Southend BID’s national accreditation
Southend City Business Improvement District (BID) has been accredited by the national organisation British BIDS for its current term.
The Directors, BID Manager and Rangers along with all their operational procedures are scrutinised against national standards with an application and interview. Southend City BID now has the accredited status until 2027 when the current term expires, and a new plan and ballot would need to take place.
The BID' Manager Scott Dolling said “We are delighted to have achieved this accreditation which gives our stakeholders the confidence that we are working to the best standards in the industry. We are delivering on our five-year business plan and this accreditation confirms that our practices are to the best standard.”
The criteria and application is presented to a panel and awarded to BIDs that can demonstrate their working practices meet or exceed the guidelines. “Achieving Accreditation assures the BID' levy paying businesses that excellent standards are in place throughout the organisation. By voluntarily undertaking this process, Southend BID is demonstrating that it is transparent, accountable and professional.” Said Ben Collins, Associate Director of Savills Place.
The BID' five-year plan focuses on the City Centre Zone to manage, market and motivate. Projects include streetscape improvements such as banners, bunting and flower baskets, funding the street rangers and many events bringing footfall to Southend’s City Centre.
