  • We are also running the Festive Business Competition this year again to celebrate the festive season with businesses across the Southend borough.   • Following recent GDPR exercise, we have now an updated Privacy Notices if you want to know more about the new data protection legislation and how we use your personal data.

  • The government just announced a £67m Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme. Businesses can claim up to £3,000 against the cost of connection. Residents can claim for a voucher of up to a value of £500. The scheme is only accessible through broadband service providers, visit to find out more.

  • Southend has been successful at securing £15m from the Housing Infrastructure Funding budget to start to develop the improved road network for Better Queensway. The award is the third largest single allocation of 134 awards made across the country, and is one of thirteen across the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) area that will receive a share of more than £82m.

  • £5.5m of funding has been secured from the ERDF funding to support the Creative, Cultural and Digital sector in the South East. The SECCADS project is led by Thurrock Council, with details to come.

  • South East Business Boost (SEBB) programme can reimburse up to 30% of the cost of your capital purchase – up to a maximum grant value of £10,000, and offer free business advice/support. To register your insterest please visit:

  • Totally over £18.5 million ERDF fund, the Low Carbon Across South East (LoCASE) project can support your business with grant funding up to a maximum of £10,000 to improve business performance and profitability.
